Orange Bluet Damselfly

Enallagma signatum

Description:

These bright damselflies are about 3 cm (1.2 in) in length. The orange shoulder stripe on the thorax is twice as wide as the black shoulder stripe and section 9 on the tail is orange.

Habitat:

Wetlands. I photographed this one at a rest stop along the Mississippi River at the edge of a wetland.
