Hoary marmot

Description:

About a foot long, reddish tail and rear, white on forehead , small eared, long toothed, makes a very loud whistling sound. Black clawed feet for digging, Pretty darn cute. herbivorous.

Habitat:

Generally found in Rocks in mountainous areas, Live in small colonies, Have no sweat glands, so unusual to see them out on a sunny day. One of golden eagles favorite prey in my area. found in Alaska, Yukon, North West Territories Canada

Notes:

I was doing some yard cleaning and found this guy in my woodpile, Not where he belongs and it sparked the question ' how the heck did he get here?" as i walked by, it was his whistle that alerted me to his presence. He was not happy to be discovered!
