Habitat:

Semi desert rocky hills, very little soil.

Thank you Johan Heyns for the new ID. I live surrounded by all kind of cactus but I don't know any thing about IDs and looking at the guide they all look much alike with very subtle defferences. I need to study more of these beautiful desert plants.

The big flat thorns/spines on this cactus is an identifying characteristic.
