Lamprima latreillii (L. latreillei)
I have only seen this beautiful beetle once on Christmas day in 2007. I have been searching for it intently ever since but haven't found it again. Does anyone know where I can find it again?

You have some fantastic pictures but I would love to read some data about your finds so I can learn more about them. They are not in my area.
Thanks
Beautiful capture kan!
Amazing animal btw. Hope you find one. I don't know if you have seen Peter Chew's website which is incredibly relevant to your area http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/ That's where I got most info.
Not really. Too much time on my hands more likely. :-)
Thanks Mark! You really know heaps about insects! This one was found in Kararatha!
These feed on dead wood particularly eucalyptus. They have been found between Melbourne and Cairns. This is a male. The female is smaller, plain brown. Try Karawatha, Daisy Hill, Venman. Look not too far from water.
