This species is a widespread endemic found over much of central Mexico. It ranges between 1,500 and 2,300 m, from S Coahuila and Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, N Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Veracruz, Michoacan, Hidalgo, and Puebla on the Mexican plateau, Oaxaca, Nuevo Leon, Quéretaro
