Southern Two-Lined Salamander

Eurycea cirrigera

Description:

The southern counterpart to the Northern Two-lined Salamander, this species is told apart by having 14 costal grooves instead of 15 or 16. It is a member of the family Plethodontidae, and therefore does not have lungs.

Habitat:

Near a small creek, under small rocks.

Notes:

Was quite common and easy to find by flipping small rocks in shallow portions of the creek.
