These erupted at my Daughter's house about a week before we arrived. In the beginning, she said even her dogs were eating them. Red eyes, Black bodies and brown wings, landing on everything in sight.
Come out of the ground in heavily wooded areas and then disappear back into the ground again for 17 years.
Very nice spotting Alice. I wonder if I'll ever get a chance to photograph these beautiful creatures.
