2-3 ft. 1/2" thick black,red,yellow colors with pointed head. lays still for hours . checked on it later then gone. see small holes around foundation of house telling me it burrows along house living there and feeding

Cool snake! The scientific name is a latin name, not "scarlet snake". The scientific name for this species is Cemophora coccinea, please put this in that field. Thanks!
