Ring - necked Pheasant - Rooster

Description:

Larger than a chicken , the male has a green head with red markings and a white neck ring. The upper body is rust and tans or light brown with lighter cream too light tan feather markings. Sides are light orange to cream in color with dark spots.

Habitat:

Farmlands, woodland edges with grass and low growing shrubs

Notes:

This is an important wild game bird in many parts of the country. It will hunker down and try to, run and finally fly in order to avoid hunters.
