Description:

Inchworm is a general name used in the US to describe any type of caterpillar that moves in an inching way. This one is found on the east coast of the US. Their main diet consists of Oak and Sweetfern, but they have been known to eat other things. This particular caterpillar turns into a grey moth.

Nice image! This matches the caterpillar of the Speckled Green Fruitworm Moth. I actually have two different spottings of this species:
