Thanks, MrsPbio. I appreciate your input. It was huge like 7, 8 inches long by 2.5 inches wide. It fell on the grass under the tree. I think it might have been a palm of some sort. I'm not expecting miracles with the answers without a picture of the tree. I'm just asking in case someone who has seen it before can say. :) It was in the picnic area by the parking lot at the botanical gardens, so was cultivated and environment unfortunately won't help.
Some more information would be very helpful. How big is it? Knowing what habitat you are in would really help, as well as what tree, if you know, it was under. It looks like some sort of fruit. Possibly mangrove? (Are there mangroves in this area?)
