Cow Vetch

Vicia Crocca (Legume Family)

Description:

Vine- 3 feet. Flowers- 1/2 inch Pink, lavender to blue-violet, tubular; crowded on long 1- sided spikes. Leaves pinnately compound, with 8-12 pairs of leaflets on leafstocks topped with paired tendrils

Habitat:

Fields and roadsides blooms June- August. The seeds are tiny pods that when dried will pop open releasing some seeds.

Notes:

I collect seeds from these flowers. They are climbers so I put a branch into the ground next to it so they can wrap their tendrils around it and not hurt or overcrowd anything else growing nearby.
