Dodder (love vine)

Description:

Spaghetti like vine that completely encases some of the trees and shrubs out here. Dodder is a parasitic plant that can tap into the vascular system of the host plant and take nutrients from it instead of the ground.

Habitat:

Coastal scrub between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. Dry sandy soil.

Notes:

It's considered a noxious weed in Florida.
