Zelus luridus
About 1 cm in length, Zelus is well suited for its role as a predator. Its bright green body and brown wing cases provide good camouflage. Sticky hairs on its front legs help capture and hold prey until it is subdued.
Around forest edges. This particular Zelus was photographed in my backyard along the edge of a deciduous forest.
This is a nymph.
