2 1/2" long skink. Either the Five-lined, Southeastern Five-lined and Broad-headed skink as all look identical as juveniles.

I would leave it as Plestiodon ssp.

They are now Plestiodon instead of Eumeces. Also we have three that look identical as juveniles, the Five-lined, Southeastern Five-lined and Broad-headed Skink. Unless you observe the scales under the tail and count the labial scales, they are undistguishable at this size.
