Podarcis muralis
The Common Wall Lizard is a small lizard very versatile in colour and scale pattern. Its coloration is generally brownish or greyish, and may occasionally be tinged with green as in this specimen. One of only two small Lacertidae native to North, West and Central Europe.
Stonewalls, rocks, quarries. Spotted here basking in the sun on a wall near my house, where they can be found by the dozen.
The other small Lacertidae native to North, West and Central Europe is the Viviparous lizard: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/123...

Hello DanielePralong! I know, they are very variable:) I find it fantastic. There are very much subspecieses if I'm right. Here in hungary they have a more "chess-tablet" like pattern and have a darker hue. Oh, and thanks for the info on the camera you used:)
Thanks Daniela!
So pretty, it has a sweet face!
Thanks WolfgangHinze! The pattern/colouration of wall lizards is very variable, even locally. These shots were taken with a Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 60 mm macro lens.
Very nice spotting! This wall lizard seems so special. Nice coloration. What camera did you use to take these shots?
What an amazing Shot ! You could also add your Spotting to the 'Reptiles and Amphibians of Central Europe' Mission ! http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1329...
Thanks Laura! He let me get close but you can see that he's keeping an eye on me:-)
That close up is awesome, Daniele! I know there are some of these little lizards where I live but I've yet to find them... Nice spotting!!
