Common House Gecko

Hemidactylus frenatus

Description:

This tiny gecko was only about 2" long, a tannish beige, and very skittish.

Habitat:

This was photographed in my house, which stands in old second-growth rainforest in the foothills of the Maya Mountains of western Belize.

Notes:

While this photo was taken as it crossed the floor, I often see them walking around on vertical plaster walls in my house. When they walk, they undulate from side to side.
