Regional Differences White-crowned Sparrows that breed along the Pacific Coast tend to have yellow bills and duller white head stripes. Birds that breed from Alaska to Hudson Bay tend to have orange bills and white or gray lores. Birds that breed east of Hudson Bay and in the Rockies tend to have pink bills with black lores that merge with the black head stripes.

I looked agt various sites,but none talks of the relative sizes of the different subspecies,
This is Z. l. Nuttalli (the pacific subspecies)

Marta ,I saw this on the coast near Half moon bay. These seem smaller than the regular ones I have seen inland. Any idea of subspecies?Nutalls etc?
Is this a sub species? Looked smaller than the ones i am used to seeing in the Bay area.
