Wild Carrot / Queen Anne's Lace

Daucus carota

Description:

Wild carrots have a white flower head, with a smaller purple florette in the center. Bruised leaves smell like carrots. When young, wild carrot roots can be eaten, however older roots become woody. It is important not to confuse the wild carrot plant with the very similar and very poisonous Poison Hemlock which looks similar.
