Medicago orbicularis
Button clover pod with helical habit. Button clover pod is a winter annual plant with leafy stems, fimbriate stipules, oval non-hairy leaflets with toothed margins, orange-yellow flowers, and flat, coiled seed pods with no spines. It forms a symbiotic relationship with the bacterium Sinorhizobium medicae, which is capable of nitrogen fixation.
It is found throughout the Mediterranean basin. It prefer rocky and cultivated soils.
