Tamias striatus
It has reddish-brown fur on its upper body and five dark brown stripes, which contrast with light brown stripes along its back, ending in a dark tail. It has lighter fur on the lower part of its body. It has a tawny stripe that runs from its whiskers to below its ears, and lighter stripes over its eyes.
I spotted this chipmunk during early morning hours in a field at Sharon Audubon. It was very curious and didn't get scared off by me or by my very loud kids who were racing on the grass 15 feet away from this little guy.
