Sword lily or gladiolus

Gladiolus

Description:

These beautiful flowers can be seen around the city decorating gardens and enhencing the walk of those who pass nearby. The plant´s long and tall stem becomes full of colorful flowers, in this case, pink.

Habitat:

Although wikipedia suggests they can generally be seen in Europe, Asia and Africa, they seem to have adapted well to Uruguay´s climate. This fact also made me wonder about the plants' id, so maybe I am wrong and it is not a gladiolus...As always, thankful for any received help =)
