rainforest 800m (2500')

Notes:

I spotted this beetle trying to bury itself under the leaf litter in Nam Nao national park. I picked it up for a few photos and then put it back.

It is a macro shot but no camera tricks here, it is that huge! It's nearly 5cm (2").

Wish i could help more, but i don't know much about bugs.. I did just read that here are about 7 000 species world wide of dung beetles..

Thanks Sydes and yes, Stian, it may be a species of dung beetle. I know there are a lot of species, so I'm not sure where to start searching.
