Southern Leopard Frog

Rana sphenocephala

Description:

This about a 6 cm or 2.5 in. frog. It has a green body with light stripes down its sides and along the jaw. The legs are brown and the dark spots make them look striped. Long legs and toes. They are nocturnal and carnivorous.

Habitat:

This one was with several others at the opening of a major drainage canal for our development. On the other side of the road there is an accumulation of water that has Pollywogs/Tadpoles. PN spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/125...
