Lime Butterfly Caterpillar (4th Instar)

Papilio demoleus malayanus

Description:

I found this caterpillar on the citrus tree in my backyard. This is a 4th instar caterpillar of Lime Butterfly (@ Swallowtail Butterfly). It is grey-white (like a bird-dropping appearance), and have false-spikes in its body. The size of this caterpillar is about 25 - 30 mm long.

Habitat:

- Around the garden and bushes (on citrus plants).

Notes:

- Lime butterfly is a part of family Papilionidae. The caterpillar of lime butterfly only feeds on the leaves citrus plants.
