Pronghorn

Antilocapra americana

Description:

An even toed ungulate related to goats and antelope

Habitat:

Range includes Alberta Canada south through Texas and west to California. Pronghorns habitat grasslands and desert.

Notes:

The Pronghorn is the fastest land animal in North America and has the longest migration of any land mammal in North America. The horns of a pronghorn are unique among ungulates in that they point backwards!
