Thanks Brian, I will always defer to the professionals, but I have seen fire pink blooming in late June, 500 miles south of that location. Was I wrong then too?

Not a Fire Pink as that has notched petals and blooms in May. The Royal Catchfly is what is blooming in the prairies now. Great capture
