Five-lined Skink

Eumeces fasciatus

Description:

About four inches long, black body with yellow stripes running from head to trunk of tail. From trunk to tip, tail is an electric blue. Tip of tail has some sort of pinkish gland or something on the tip.

Habitat:

Living in a driftwood planter

Hi Cherri! Nice skink spotting! This is a five-lined skink. Although the blue-tailed skink looks very similar, it is only found near Australia I think. :) I really like that 2nd picture as the bright blue tail contrasts nicely with those rocks.
