Spotting

Description:

A hornet and one of the most persistent ants i have ever seen, feeding on sap flowing from base of oak. The ant, to the right and below the hornet, would continually climb up to the source. Each time the hornet would nip at him and knock him down, undeterred the ant would climb again. Hornet was just over an inch long.

Habitat:

Mixed forest
