American robin

Turdus migratorius

Description:

This was a fledgling juvenile

Habitat:

rural township

Notes:

This fledgling came from a nest in a tree on my property. I had watched the adults throughout the nest building, egg-laying, incubating, and raising process. When the fledglings left the next, a domestic cat began stalking the one in the photo. I scared the cat away and then decided to make a photographic record of the young bird. This fledgling was immediately released to the natural habitat--away from the neighbor's cat.
