Lime Butterfly Caterpillar (5th Instar)

Papilio demoleus malayanus

Description:

I found this caterpillar on the citrus tree in my backyard. This is a 5th instar caterpillar of Lime Butterfly (or Swallowtail Butterfly). It is green, and have a false "eyes" near its actual head. The size of this caterpillar is about 35 - 40 mm long.

Habitat:

- Around the garden and bushes (on citrus plants).

Notes:

- Lime butterfly is a part of family Papilionidae. The caterpillar of lime butterfly only feeds on the leaves citrus plants.
