Giant Water Bug

Lethocerus americanus

Description:

It looks partly like one of those Palmetto bugs (roaches), but it is about two inches long and has those weird attachments on its head. Please help me identify!

Habitat:

Sarasota, FL near a strip mall in the parking lot. Only near a few palm trees.

This is a Giant-Water Bug (Lethocerus sp.) Here in FL likely to be either Lethocerus griseus - Eastern Toe-Biter or Lethocerus uhleri - Uhler's Water Bug. see here:
