Unidentified Earwig

Description:

I found this earwig inside my house. It is black, and have a few yellow spots on its body. Earwigs have characteristic cerci, a pair of forceps pincers on their abdomen, and membranous wings folded underneath short fore-wings. The size of this one is about 8 mm in length.

Habitat:

- Around the house and garden.

Notes:

- Earwigs are insect from order Dermaptera. Earwigs are generally nocturnal insects that sometimes do damage to garden plants and produce. They are otherwise harmless to humans, though the name originates from the belief that earwigs will crawl into the ears of sleeping people.
