Description:

Shrub variable in height from 2-10m, with soft wood. Male and female flowers occur on different plants. The leaves and fruits of the species have a hot peppery taste, the dried fruits can be used a pepper substitute. Birds such as Currawongs apparently disperse the seeds. Member of the Winteraceae family.
