Description:

Head to body length of 19-23 cm. Red squirrels vary in color depending on the time of the year.

Habitat:

Eating mostly seeds, both coniferous forests and broadleaf woodlands make good homes for the red squirrel.

Notes:

Group name: Scurry or Dray. From toe to tail tip, squirrels range in size from 5 inches to nearly 3 feet! Nearly 2oo species can be found around the world.

Cool picture!
It is actually an American red squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus). Sciurus vulgaris is the European red squirrel.
