Rocky Mountain Blue Jay

Description:

This photograph was taken in Estes Park, Colorado. The blue jay can be found in southern Canada and in the United States, east of the Rocky Mountains. The blue jay is migratory and northern populations will move south in the winter.

Habitat:

The blue jay is common in deciduous forests. It is also found in residential areas.

Yes, I know this bird as Stellar's Jay too. Whichever common name you use, I think the scientific name should be Cyanocitta stelleri. Cyanocitta cristata is the name for the common Blue Jay.

It's also called a Steller's Jay :)
