Columbian Black Tailed Deer

Odocoileus hemionus columbianus

Description:

Two bucks, one doe, one fawn, very sleek and healthy looking; golden brown in color.

Habitat:

Living for the past 2-3 years in a "house" they have created between a group of very close firs and a circle of tightly growing large rhododendrons. They feed on all of the neighboring gardens and a grassy vacant lot.

Notes:

This family with the two bucks has been here long enough that they ignore humans for the most part. I have observed these deer running with raised tail, so am certain as I can be that this is the correct species.
