Description:

Perennial to 3 feet growing from a bulblike root, often with many stems from the base. It flowers late summer to fall; 3-6 disk flowers to 3/4 in. long in small heads; no ray flowers; heads dense on tall spike. Leaves are simple, alternate; narrowly linear.

Habitat:

Dry limestone soil in spillway of Belton dam.
