Broad-headed Skink

Plestiodon laticeps

Description:

A small to medium-sized North American skink. Females, like this one, have five light stripes running down the back and the tail, similar to the Five-lined Skink. Juveniles are dark brown or black and also striped and have blue tails.

Habitat:

Found on a wooded hillside.

Notes:

This lizard was captured during a bioblitz, photographed and then released back where found.
