Description:

Coatis, also known as Brazilian aardvarks, Mexican tejón, cholugo, or moncún, hog-nosed coons, pizotes, Panamanian gatosolos, crackoons, and snookum bears, are members of the raccoon family. They are diurnal mammals native to South America, Central America, and south-western North America.

Habitat:

Seen in the Atitlan Nature Reserve. These coati's were wild but came into the reserve to beg food. Overall, coatis are widespread, occupying habitats ranging from hot and arid areas to humid Amazonian rainforests or even cold Andean mountain slopes, including grasslands and bushy areas.
