Description:

Passeriform bird, belongs to the Thraupidae family. Completely red, wit dark red in the back. Head has a intense red crown and some dark areas arrround.

Habitat:

This picture was taken in the top of the Cerro San Bernardo, in Salta City in Northern Argentina. However I also had the chance to see it in Buenos Aires and Formosa provinces. It is common in open and rural areas. Scarce in urban areas.
