Usnea florida
A densely branched pale green fruticose lichen. The apothecia is almost always present (2-10 mm dia) pinkish gray disc with short branches on the margins.
Spotted on a Live oak limb at Gulf State Park.
Like other lichens it is a symbiosis of a fungus and an alga. In Usnea, the fungus belongs to the division Ascomycota, while the alga is a member of the division Chlorophyta.
