Amur Honeysuckle

Lonicera maackii

Description:

Who doesn't have summer memories of plucking honeysuckle off the vine and eating the nectar? It was so addicting. What I didn't know at the time was that honeysuckle isn't native to Kansas, or even the US. This is an invasive species from Asia, and it out-competes many native flora. That's unfortunate.

Habitat:

Native to most of Asia and introduced elsewhere, notoriously invasive here in the US.
