Description:

Upright, smooth perennial to 12 inches from a deep bulb. Flowers are solitary, terminal in leafless stalk, opening in the evening and lasting up to 4 days before turning pinkish and withering. Leaves from bulb, elongating after flowering and becoming 12 inches long, smooth, grey green, very slender and grasslike.

Habitat:

Grassy hillside beside a road.
