Script Lichen

Leiorreuma sericeum

Description:

Crustose lichen with a greenish thallus and black lirellae that look like some interesting script or unknown language. I only saw this small patch on this stick

Habitat:

A stick that broke off one of the nearby trees and was hanging from a vine. This area was dominated by hardwoods, especially oaks and magnolia, but a few other species as well. Homosassa Wildlife Management Area

Notes:

Another possibility is Phaeographina caesiopruinosa
