Hyla crysoscelis
Tiny young frog; green with white and brown markings. Brown markings on back in the same of wings. Sitting on a milkweed leaf, eating black ants.
Suburban neighborhood.
I have been hearing this frog, but didn't spot it until today, because it is so small.
Hi Ginni, the map function is having some problems currently, so you have to manually grab the pin and move it to where you want it at. It looks like you have fixed it now, just letting you know for in the future!
Also, this is a young cope's gray tree frog, not a green tree frog. They are commonly green when they are young, and it has a mottled look to it that a green tree frog would not have. This species is visually indistinguishable from the gray tree frog, but the gray tree frog is not in your area. Hope this makes sense :)
I have no idea why this spotting is listed as occurring in Canada. I saw this frog in my back yard in Madison, Alabama, U.S.A.
