Zingiber spectabile
Beehive Ginger's only exist in tropical areas, and since Singapore is a tropical country, the Beehive Ginger is one of the many plants that exist in the SAS Secondary Rainforest. As you can see, the ginger turns into a pinkish colour towards the bottom and that's because the Beehive Ginger changes into a deeper colour as the bracts (a modified leaf) mature and develop. It grows in the understory and it's the only one that is in the SAS rainforest, or at least the one of it's kind that I know.
