Pelidnota punctata
The grapevine beetle is a species of beetle in the family Scarabaeidae (Scarab beetles) that usually measures 2.5 cm for adults. Off-yellow to auburn-red with black spots running along each side.
Attracted to lights in my backyard. Deciduous forest nearby.
The adult beetle eats the leaves and fruit of grapevines, both wild and cultivated, although it is not normally a major pest of vineyards.
