Aztec spur throat grasshopper

Aidemona azteca

Description:

Young grasshopper. Yellow, black, and reddish orange. Last picture shows the exuviae from one of the grasshoppers.

Habitat:

These were found on a potato vine that grows in my yard. It is in a mostly shady area with some afternoon sun.

Notes:

These grasshoppers have been here for two years. They wreak havoc on my plants, but I have not taken steps to remove them because they don't seem to be harming any other plants in my yard. I am trying to find more information on them to see if they are invasive, or harmful to anything else.
