Feathery White Moth

Description:

Almost pure white but for a small round patch of dirty brown on the middle of the back...like a smudge mark. The antenna are like plumes. Feathery...almost fuzzy looking.

Habitat:

Spotted this one on the wall of the corridor in office. I lifted it on the piece of paper I was carrying and set it free on the terrace wall...it sat there for hours.

Notes:

Can anyone help with the ID, please.

Spilosoma seems very close...and India has a few specie of this genus...I will work this out. Thanks for the pointer, Hema.

Thanks Hema....does look very similar...let me check out the range. Some pictures show black spots, though... which this one did not have.
